The Arkansas Science & Technology Authority (the Authority) was created by statute in 1983 with the mission to bring the benefits of science and advanced technology to the people and state of Arkansas. This mission is addressed by strategies to promote scientific research, technology development, business innovation, and math, science and engineering education.
The Authority's staff is led by the President, the chief executive officer, who is responsible for the agency's programs, services and support functions. The Authority's activities are divided into three programmatic areas that include the following:

Arkansas Manufacturing Solutions (AMS) is a program of the Arkansas Science & Technology Authority and is an affiliate of the National Institute of Standards and Technology Manufacturing Extension Partnership. The AMS mission is to improve Arkansas manufacturers’ “Bottom Line Results” by helping them improve performance, productivity, and profitability through Lean, Quality, and other programs that target operating efficiencies and through Growth Services like Eureka Winning Ways and Web Marketing. AMS has offices located in Camden, Fayetteville, Jonesboro and Little Rock.
